The castellan of Minsk, Michał Rokicki (1748–1779), in the light of posthumous panegyrical prints.

Abstract

The aim of the article is to analyze the beginnings of changes in the Baroque funeral pomp, which occurred under the influence of the Enlightenment. The material for the analysis was the report from the funeral of a senator – Michał Rokicki, castellan of Mińsk. In the diary from this funeral, the first announcements of modifications and restrictions on selected elements associated with Baroque ceremonies are visible – changes in sermons, speeches, occasional decorations and the audio sphere.
