Historical reenactment of the figure of Maria Kazimiera d'Arquien Sobieska and its importance for regional and supra-local education

Abstract

The subject of the work is the role of historical reenactment and its influence on shaping the area of ​​education, based on the example of the staging of the figure of queen Maria Kazimiera d'Arquien Sobieska. The work consists of outlining the methodological framework around the concept of historical reenactment and defining clarifications, explaining the issue of the so-called the black legend of the queen, shaped in Polish historiography in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and the presentation of forms of historical staging. Information on preparations, events, difficulties, the scope of transmission and the importance of recreating the figure of the queen was obtained from ladies dealing with this field through an interview. Information about the role of the queen being played by the employees of the Museum of King Jan III's Palace at Wilanów and journalistic information found on websites became an important source of knowledge. The study managed to establish the growth of the "white legend" of the queen, who, unlike in earlier times, emphasizes the positive character traits of the king's wife and her contribution to the culture of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The figure of Maria Kazimiera d'Arquien Sobieska is clearly gaining importance in the context of constant reminding of Viennese anniversaries and developing patriotic attitudes. In addition, the figure of the queen is associated with such values ​​as beauty, intelligence, independence, which clearly fosters the formation of new social attitudes in the circle of women and strengthens the cult of beauty and youth present in social life
